Children and young people across the UK are currently facing a multitude of challenges, including illness, poverty, mental health problems, isolation, loneliness and social injustice. Sadly, the coronavirus pandemic has made life even harder for those who were already experiencing difficulties in their lives.
BBC Children in Need is there to help children and young people who urgently need support to overcome these challenges and through this partnership Toyota (GB) and Bentleys Warrington can help fund local charities and projects making a real difference to young lives in communities throughout the UK.
Since it was introduced in 2011, the Rickshaw Challenge has raised £35,373,713 for BBC Children in Need. As it celebrates its 10th anniversary, Toyota are supporting this year’s challenge by providing a range of vehicles, including RAV4, Mirai and PROACE, to support the team throughout the ride.
Matt Baker will once again be joining six heroic riders, but with a slightly different format due to Covid-19 restrictions. The team plan to ride the equivalent of Matt’s first solo Rickshaw ride in 2011, from Edinburgh to London – 332 miles – but from within the iconic grounds of ‘Glorious’ Goodwood. The team plan to take on the mammoth challenge, starting on Friday 6th November, and will have to cover a variety of terrains to reach their target each day, in time for a live broadcast into The One Show each evening at 7pm.
At Bentleys Warrington we have set up a page where staff and customers can donate money or pay in fundraising to the appeal, so if you would like to make a donation please click on the link below.
