Design and interior
The Proace Verso’s practicality starts on the outside. A steeply raked windscreen and slim side pillars creates excellent visibility, while the wedge-shaped nose with its large, xenon headlamps ensures clear vision at night and in inclement weather. Rubbing strips protect the car’s flanks from knocks and scratches, while sliding doors facilitate access even in the tightest of spaces.

Performance
A range of diesel engines provides power to the Toyota Proace Verso, with 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre variants available. The strongest delivers 174bhp and can achieve 0-62mph in just 10.1 seconds, while the 1.6-litre option is the most efficient, producing only 137g/km of CO2 and returning a combined fuel consumption of 54.3mpg. All units come with Stop-Start functionality to reduce emissions around town.
For its size, the Proace Verso has a surprisingly small turning circle, and its accurate steering makes driving through city streets effortless. At higher speeds it remains stable and controlled, with supple suspension absorbing surface imperfections with ease.
Technology and safety
It makes sense that a car built to transport lots of passengers has the very latest in safety technology. A strong suite of standard features includes airbags, stability control, hill-start assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Higher spec models adopt Toyota Safety Sense, which incorporates Adaptive Cruise Control for extra support on the motorway, as well as Pre-collision assist with Pedestrian protection and cornering lights that improve visibility as you enter bends at night. All this earned the Proace Verso a five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.
In the cabin the technology is no less advanced.
